Stand and Be Bold
After a multiple-year hiatus from posting, I've decided it is time for me to return and give my thoughts. Writing is a passion and a way I love to express myself as the person God created me to be. Due to so much changing in my life since actively posting on my previous blog (6 years ago!), I decided it was time to start fresh with the season God has placed me in - I am broken and imperfect but through God I am whole.
It's officially June, which means summer, warm weather, swimming in the pool, and being outdoors - just to name a few. However, I've also been doing a lot of thinking about where our world is at. Our society has very quickly moved towards the sinful, Biblical descriptions noted in scriptures with what our world would look like as we approach the end times. Being a parent to two young, impressionable children, I am charged with not only protecting them but training them to recognize the Biblical standards of morality and knowing how to boldly stand up for what is Biblically right. As I was reflecting this morning on how our society focuses this whole month on pride month, I was reminded of what the Bible says about pride: “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). This agenda has tried to take the month of June, which is the month that has always been symbolized as the wedding month. Previously weddings focused on marriage between a biological male and biological female, what God intended; however, our society has moved to the concept of love is love. The pride agenda also attempts to steal the rainbow, which Biblically originated as a sign of God’s promise (Genesis 9:13). Although, they change it to six colors, instead of seven, to attempt to make it their own, but it is interesting when you look up the Biblical meaning of six, it is the number of man, the number of imperfection, and the manifestation of sin (just to name a few). Whereas, the number seven symbolizes completeness, which everything is complete in God. Satan knew it had to be adjusted because the whole concept of pride month and the pride agenda symbolizes sin and everything about Satan is incomplete.
Before anyone thinks this is a hate speech, as Christians, we are called to love everyone, but that does not mean we agree with or be silent about the sin. I am instructed to teach my children wrong from right based on God’s standards given to us in the Bible. Through the world’s focus of this month, it reminds me that pride truly does go before destruction. Although the destruction may not come here on Earth, my heart is saddened thinking about how all those who go against the Biblical standards will face eternal destruction, and this is all those who blatantly live in sin, not just the sin associated with living or agreeing with the pride agenda. We are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16). It is time for the church to not only stand up and boldly preach what the Bible states on all accounts, but it is more important than ever to raise a generation, like my own young children, to recognize and stand up for Biblical standards, be willing to call out sin in love, and be bold to preach the full gospel to reach a people who are not-so-slowly slipping into the false promises of Satan.
